Core Weekly Events

If you are in 6th grade through 12th grade, we would love meet you and welcome you into the youth group here at FECDB!  We’re honestly just a normal/crazy mixture of middle school & high school students in the Diamond Bar, Walnut, & Rowland area who are seeking to figure out who Jesus is, what God invites us into, and why it matters in the first place. We don’t have ALL the answers to everything there is to know about everything but we believe that God has given us a a rich and sufficient resource that can not only make sense of life but provide tremendous hope for what’s to come.

No matter where you are or what your faith background may or may not be, we would love to get to meet you and possibly partner with you in your journey of faith. To say we’re not perfect is a massive understatement, but our hope is in Christ, what He’s done and what He’s doing in us, as works in progress. Please refer to “upcoming events” for the latest updates on what’s going on in our youth ministry, but in general, these main three things are what we have going every week:

Friday Fellowship
What: Friday Fellowship is our weekly youth group gathering that aims to provide an environment that is welcoming, worshipful, and transparent. A typical Friday looks like us beginning with an active group game to help stimulate everyone’s energy, a time of worship to center our hearts on Jesus, and finishing with splitting into small groups that aim to talk about how we’re doing and reflect on the message/content of the night.Small groups are the key element of Friday Fellowship and are essential to youth ministry, where they really can build relationships in Christ and walk through life together.
When: Every Friday, 7:30pm
Where: The Youth Room
Primary Purpose: Friday Fellowship is our youth’s MAIN vehicle in Youth ministry to really interact with God together in small group community.

Sunday School

What: Sunday School exists primarily equip our youth in growing in their relationship with Jesus by training their knowledge of the Bible at large, which attests to Him. We’re currently going through curriculum from The Gospel Project, where we are revisiting “highlights” of the entire story of the Bible and seeing how they all connect and weave together to show us one story of God’s promise and plan to rescue and restore His kingdom on earth. If you’ve ever wanted to know why Abraham, Noah, Esther, David, Jonah, and Daniel all belong in the same book, or why it all matters, this is for you. Bring dem Bibles!
When: 9:30am-10:30 am
Where: Room 203 (Middle School), Jon’s Office (High School)
Primary Purpose: Sunday School exists to equip our youth in growing in their relationship with Jesus by training their knowledge of the Bible at large, which attests to Him.

Sunday Youth Service

What: Youth service exists to be a safe, encouraging, and engaging environment for middle school and high school students. Every week we meet to engage, hear, and meet with God together through fellowship, music, and teaching from the Bible. Every first Sunday of the month, the rest of English congregation join us for a joint service where we also do communion for those who are baptized.
When: 11:15am-12:30pm
Where: The Youth Room
Primary Purpose: To be a place where youth can learn at an early age how to belong at and serve in a church community, in a language and context they can understand, embrace, and be equipped to translate to others outside our walls.
